A Wild Wednesday
I woke up early this morning so I would have time to buy breakfast before class. I've had a bit of a cold so my host dad gave me a Vitamin C tablet to dissolve in my water. It didn't taste great but I think it helped.
I met Alisa and Tyler at a market on our way to school. I had some delicious noodle soup. We then walked the rest of the way to school and I arrived in time to say morning prayer in the chapel. I then headed over to the Chinese Language Center for class.

During class, we studied vocabulary terms for different leisure activities. We also played a game where one person would have the name of a leisure activity and everyone else had to guess what it was by asking questions. It was hard but fun.
For lunch, we went to a restaurant near school. I thought I had ordered fried rice but instead received this:
My Lunch
It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't terrible either. It mostly provided me more motivation to learn how to read a menu better!
We then went back to the same shaved ice place we went to yesterday. Our goal is to become locals at the shop so we will probably be eating their frequently. We ordered one mango shaved ice and one watermelon shaved ice to split.

We then went back to Wenzao for our afternoon class. We learned about convenience stores in Taiwan and practiced how to order tea.
After class, I went to a shoe store with Katie, Kate and Alisa. On my walk home, I stopped at 7-11 to buy a new bus card as I managed to lose my original one. I also stopped at a pastry shop to buy a snack for my walk home. I ate a delicious roll with meat inside and a muffin with red bean paste. This pastry store is on my walk to school and is very well priced so I will probably stop there often.
When I got home, my host mom showed me how to use our apartment complex's gym. I was the only person in the gym which was nice but there was no air conditioning so it was incredibly hot.
The Gym
After working out, I took a shower. Then I ate dinner with my host family. We had rice, broccoli and sausage. I ate some peaches for dessert. I remembered how to say the word for peach which I was very excited about!
My host sister and I then watched the end of the movie Beethoven's 2nd together. Then we watched an Australian cooking show while we worked on homework.
One of my homework assignments for the day was to record myself asking my host family about their favorite leisure activities. After completing that assignment, I went to bed. My first Wednesday in Taiwan is in the books!
