Placement Exams and a Plant Store
I ate waffles for breakfast, walked to school, stopped in at the chapel and went to class. Today we studied vocabulary that has to do with traveling. We also learned quite a few 成語 (chéngyǔ). These are four character long idioms.
For lunch, I went to a great dumpling place near school with Alisa and Katie. Our customary shaved ice place was sadly closed so we went to a different place down the street. Their shaved ice was also really great! We then went to the school library which was awesome! They have a large English section as well as many comfortable places to study. I think I will be spending lots of time there.
In the afternoon, we took our placement exams. I felt like I did as well as I could reasonably expect myself to do. I will be curious to see what classes the university places me in. We then spent some time looking at different elective classes we can take. I am having a bit of a hard time deciding which ones to take. Luckily we can shadow classes next week before we have to make our final decision.
After class, we all went to a plant market. The plants were incredibly inexpensive and very beautiful.

After looking at the plants, I took the MRT home. I walked through the park by the Aozihdi Station on my way back.

When I arrived home, I worked on adding all the NSLI-Y program events to my assignment notebook. I was surprised to see how little time we have off of school; our longest break is a just a week long and doesn't come until February. While this will certainly be an adjustment, I am so grateful that my time here really will be well filled!
