Week Seven Top Five
1. The small cakes sold right outside Wenzao are delicious I was super excited to discover this snack stand. Each cake costs less than 50 cents. I’m looking forward to trying the other flavors!
2. The weather does cool down here When we were in Nantou, the weather was in the high 60s. It was so comfortable and such a welcomed change! When I returned to Kaohsiung, it was also pretty cool as it was in the low 80s. It has been so hot for so long, it was beginning to feel like the weather would never change. I’m not sure if this change is permanent but I am appreciative!
3. Nantou is absolutely beautiful I was blown away by the scenery in Nantou. I especially enjoyed the hike we took in the forest. Because we were up on a mountain, there was a lot of mist and the temperature was perfect. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to travel there!
4. Joining clubs is very rewarding I joined two clubs this week. There are no other Americans in these clubs so I am really relying on my own language skills to get by. This is certainly challenging but very rewarding when I am able to follow what is going on! I am excited to meet the other people in the clubs and become more involved here at Wenzao!
5. You can have s’mores without a bonfire We made s’mores this weekend in Nantou. Several substitutions were involved including coconut flavored crackers in place of grahm crackers and a tea kettle in place of a fire. However, the s’mores were absolutley delicious!
