Visiting a Temple, Fort, and Senior Center
This week, our Chinese language classes were on break so we had the chance to visit many interesting places in Kaohsiung.
On Monday, we went to Fo Guang Shan, the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia. One of the host dads from last year gave us a tour.

On Tuesday, we volunteered at a senior center. We played different games with seniors and had the chance to learn more about their lives. We also sang a song in Taiwanese. This activity was very enjoyable!

On Wednesday, we went to the old British Consulate in Kaohsiung. It is located on a mountain right near the ocean. The consulate was beautiful and I was grateful for the opportunity to learn more about the history of Kaohsiung.

On Thursday morning, we left for Taipei. I’ll be posting about that trip later this week!
